The Manolo Jaén athletics track houses the necessary facilities for the practice of all athletics disciplines. It may be found at about a 15 minute walk from the city centre, in front of the Sports City, in the Altabix neighbourhood.

The Decatlón Kondy Athletics Club , founded in 1978 following the demise of the sports section of the Elche Football Club, is located there.
Elche´s Half Marathon, the world’s oldest Half Marathon, is held every year in the city. The event takes place in early April, an ideal time of year for middle distance runners because of the mild temperatures.
