The playing of padel, a game which bears a similarity to tennis, has experienced enormous growth in popularity in Elche in recent years. This has been reinforced by the staging of various prestigious competitions and exhibitions by top level players.

The padel facilities are located on the periphery of Elche itself and in the surrounding small towns. Club Deportivo Squash is on the Altabix Industrial Estate (Calle Majorca, 37), whilst Spazio-Sports Centre is located next to the shopping mall of L’Aljub (Avenida de Crevillent, 10-12).

Twenty-one kilometres along the same road, the N-340, and next to the power station, is located 360 Padel. Other centres where the practice of this sport may be enjoyed are Natura Sport (Camino de La Galia), One Wellness Club (Severo Ochoa, 43, Elche Business Park) and Solo Padel Club, next to the Martínez Valero Stadium.

Situated in various locations around the district are the Club de Tenis Elche (Asprillas), the Club Deportivo Tiro de Pichon (Algorós), the Elche Club de Campo (Altabix) and the Club de Padel Matola (Matola), all with outdoor courts and just ten minutes by car from the city centre.
