The Miguel Hernández University (UMH), created in 1997, offers modern premises at its main head office in Elche (its university campus is in Orihuela, Sant Joan and Altea as well), with buildings for all types of subject matters, including investigation, conference halls, sports facilities, cafes and relaxation areas.

The university setting in Elche is an ideal place for conferences and meetings, due to its great capacity (up to 400 people) in its halls, with the shape of an amphitheatre, especially the Aula Magna in the building known as Edificio Altabix and the Rectorado auditorium.

The UMH is located in front of the bus and train stations, only ten minutes walk from the city centre, with very easy access from the Mediterraneans motorway and from the ring roads around the outskirts of the city. There are three large parking areas and it is connected with a city bus line.
