The museum allows to know  the evolution of the shoe industry which is so important to the city of Elche. Currently about 42% of the shoes produced in Spain are made in Elche.
The visitor will move through the history going back to the origins of the nineteenth-century craftsmanship espadrille, knowing how industrialization occurred in the footwear industry with the creation of the first factories, when the city became a municipality purely industrial . The museum have two rooms. The first explains the origins of the shoe industry in Elche, the second explains the story as well as the traditional manufacturing processes.
