PARQUE DEL FILET DE FORA

Type of protected nature area: Nature Reserves Near Towns

With a surface area of 50,000 square metres, the park known as Parque del Filet de Fora is the city’s second largest after the Municipal Park. We can find it between the street after which it has been named and Curtidors street, only a short stroll from the old quarter. The park was created in the 1990s by grouping together the traditional groves known as Casimira, Pastoret, Borreguet, Monjo and Mareta.

The parkland has incorporated the classical layout of orchards with 19 species of fruit-trees, a wide range of palms, generous promenades, children’s play areas, multi-purpose sports areas, a pond with jets of water and an ornamental bridge.

By the East entrance we can see the original Casimira’s grove homestead, however only the columns from the original porch have been left standing.
